Author Info: Dr. Bakshish Singh Nijjar, M.A. (History, Persian and Punjabi), Ph.D., is a well-known authority on the history, culture and language of Punjab. He had a long experience of teaching post-graduate classes in History. He was Director of Punjab State Archives. He was also member of Indian Historical Records Commission. He is sub¬editor to the Encyclopaedia of Hinduism (Pittsburgh U.S.A) on Sikh History, Religion and Literature. He has also contributed more than one hundred Research Articles in leading Journals.
