Author Info: "Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, a prolific writer and physician was born on May 1859 in a prosperous Irish-Catholic family. Doyle pursued medicine at the University of Edinburgh Medical School. At this time, the young medical students met a number of future authors who were his companions in the university. During the initial years in his writing career, Doyle found it difficult to find a publisher for his stories. It took around three weeks for Doyle to write his first book which eventually was accepted for publication by Ward Lock & Co in 1886. Doyle wrote seven historical novels between 1888 - 1906, which was regarded by many critics as his best work He has also written nine other novels, and five narratives featuring the irascible scientist Professor Challenger. Doyle’s works include fantasy and science fiction stories, humorous stories as well as plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction, and historical novels. Sir Conan Doyle wrote ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ story after returning to his home Undershaw. It is the third crime novel written by him which features the detective Sherlock Holmes. This was originally serialized in The Strand Magazine between 1901-1902. The novel tells the story of an attempted murder inspired by the legend of a fearsome, diabolical hound of supernatural origin. It was Holmes first appearance after his apparent death in ""The Final Problem"", and the success of Novel led to the character's eventual revival. During the initial time of The Hound Of The Baskervilles publication, it was successful in gripping the readers, and still remains as one of the best Sherlock adventures. "
