Author Info: Dr. Saumitra Mohan is an IAS of the 2002 batch of the West Bengal Cadre. He is presently holding the post of Mission Director, National Health Mission Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department & Commissioner Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal. Before joining the services, he served as Assistant Regional Director at IGNOU, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Meerut University and as a journalist with Press Trust of India. He has done his M.A., M.Phil. and PhD in International Organization. He has also published approximately 350 articles in various national and international newspapers and magazines.
