Author Info: Dr. Makhan Saikia has taught Political Science and International Relations in the past for almost a decade in institutions of national and international importance across the country. His areas of research interest include globalization and IPR, international conflict and global governance. He has published more than six research papers both in national and international peer reviewed research journals of high repute. One of his recent international publications is “Impact of TRIPS Agreement on Indian Pharmaceutical Industry: An Assessment 1995-2011-12” in European Intellectual Property Review, July 2015. Besides, he has published more than 50 articles in national newspapers on various subjects—ranging from North-East of India, global conflicts, politics in China, South East Asia, EU, Middle East and Africa, global governance—to scandals in sports, etc. His forthcoming book is Global Politics: Issues and Perspectives, for Pearson, UK.
